lyrics
The burden of years,
the sapping, the leaching
Taking in what’s most coveted
By others alike, a transient
The life in smoke
Into the skies, like birds of prey,
the liquid moves through the shadows
She pecks at the flesh of the mind.
Feeding, feasting, draining, all at the same time
The curse of time, in more of darkness than you’ve ever known
Repay those debts, as it was written
Give back to the darkness,
That has been so kind,
Repay your debt to the dark smoke
To it, a victim to come.
Endless bodies and lives to come.
The mind, like a serpent unwinding
Rotting away to emptiness
A poison that cannot by siphoned away
Toxic visions corrupt what lies inside.
seeking to survive, survive.
It’s not a sickness you know, it’s curse, a shadow inside
It’s not a sickness you’ll ever know, breeding death to stay alive.
never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
